Clayton Hotels Booking Engine Case Study

Clayton Hotels is a hotel brand part of the Dalata Hotel Group.

The brand offers a collection of 22 hotels in 12 cities across Ireland and the UK. The properties are the perfect choice for leisure and corporate guests looking for comfort, convenience, great location, friendly staff and a range of facilities.

The Challenge

Clayton Hotels was working to increase the number of direct bookings coming through their brand website, consequently increasing conversion rate and online revenue.


Their marketing team was investing a considerable effort in digital campaigns. However, they were not seeing a significant growth in conversion rate and revenue. Therefore, they were looking for a new partner that could deliver a booking engine optimised to improve conversion rate so they could get a better value out of their existing traffic, thus a better return on investment of their marketing efforts.

The Solution

In 2015, P3 launched the new booking engine for Clayton Hotels that was fully responsive and tailored to their visual identity and marketing goals.


P3 designed and built an user-centred booking solution that seamlessly drives users throughout the booking process.


It is a simple and easy-to-use technology for the hotel staff, fully integrated with the Oracle OPERA system to retrieve real-time information on room availability, rates, reservations and guest profiles.

The Loyalty Program

In 2017, P3 integrated our Loyalty Software Program to work seamlessly with the Clayton Hotels booking engine to help increase direct bookings.


With the Loyalty Program integrated with Oracle OPERA, guests can get a discount on the room rates when booking directly on the Clayton Hotels brand website.

Due to the success of the Loyalty Program for Clayton Hotels, the system was further incorporated in all the hotels of the Dalata Hotel Group, empowering them to get more direct bookings and build brand loyalty.

The Results

After 12 successful months, the results were so impressive that we launched the booking engine for all brands of Dalata Hotel Group, which includes Maldron Hotels, The Gibson Hotel and The Ballsbridge Hotel.


We effectively integrated all the hotels booking engine with their Oracle OPERA (OWS) system, which helped the hotel staff to drive efficiency into their operations. All hotels experienced an increase in conversion rate and direct booking revenue.
